Past

Eddie Wang moved to Thailand from Taiwan at a young age. The cultural difference and being educated at an international school gave him a different perspective in life. He realized that language has its limits and that visual images were his tools to communicate his ideas and visions about the world. It was in high school that he started taking photography classes being ever so obsessive about black and white photography. Finally in his senior year Eddie had a large enough body of work that he then gathered into a portfolio and made up his mind to attend an art school in America.

It was at California College of Art that instructors like Jim Goldberg and Larry Sultan challenged and fostered his talents in the medium of photography yet pushing him forward.  Before he had graduated Eddie's work was already selected by BIG magazine to be a part of the San Francisco issue and was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle as well.  Shortly after Eddie shot the school's fashion catalog he graduated and had to move back to Taiwan.

Upon arrival in Taiwan Eddie was enrolled in the mandatory military service for a year and half.  After the completion of the service Eddie decided to move back to where it all began and soon moved back to Bangkok once again to a place that he grew up.

Present

These days Eddie spends his time juggling various types of photography ranging from commissioned work, fashion and editorials for magazines.  It is still his mission to keep and uphold the merits that he had been fostered in art school  and try to inject a sense of the fine art vocabulary even in the most commercial project and bridging the gap between the two.
